Program Note
Thaumaturgy is a collection of three short movements on the theme of magic, as the title implies. The goal was to compose music that explores both the beautiful and bizarre aspects of the instruments. The first movement focuses on warping the sounds of the sax and harp. The second reshapes the instruments into their more traditional sounds, and the third ignites them in a flurry of energy and musical pyrotechnics.
