Journey LIVE is an interactive concert experience resulting from a collaboration between composer Austin Wintory, arranger Patrick O’Malley, and the performers of Fifth House Ensemble. This piece recreates all of the music from Wintory’s grammy-nominated score for the 2012 video game Journey, to be played by a live ensemble while real video game players “perform” the entire game from beginning to end (nothing is prerecorded or choreographed). The music is arranged and notated so that changes in the music scene to scene are cued by the conductor, without the need for a click track, streamers, or other miscellaneous technology.

Journey LIVE premiered at MAGFest in February 2016, and has been performed to glowing reviews at venues such as National Sawdust in New York City, and Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago. The project has been covered by publications such as VICE, Polygon, and the New York Times.

Currently, booking inquiries for Journey LIVE can be made through Visconti Arts.
