When living in Los Angeles during the quarantines in the spring of 2020, I would occasionally escape the confines of my home by taking long drives up and down the Pacific coast. These drives provided a sense of tranquility, not only because there was very little traffic with everyone shut in, but also because it gave me a chance to see many beautiful places along the ocean that I had never seen before. This music tries to capture a momentary reprise during odd times, along with the excitement of discovering something new. The title also brings to mind a second meaning: that many of us were suddenly unable to move forward in life until the lockdowns passed, gliding along with what momentum we had at the time.
